Bet365 operates legally in Colorado as an online sportsbook

  • 20 December 2021

During a meeting of the state's Limited Gaming Control Commission (LGCC), the licence was awarded without public debate and unanimous approval from the five members of the Commission.

It is the norm for new operators in the state to have licence approvals that are "temporary," and that is exactly what bet365 received. The state must conduct a background investigation before the gaming operator can be granted a full operating licence, according to LGCC Chairman Richard Nathan.

After New Jersey, Colorado became the second US state to grant bet365 operating rights, bringing the total number of licenced operators in the state to 26, with 17 retail operators and 26 online sportsbook providers. Although the operator had submitted an application for a New York licence, it was not chosen to debut in 2022 along with the other eight operators.

Century Casinos, with sites in both Cripple Creek and Central City, is Bet365's casino partner in Colorado. Tipico and Circa, two sportsbooks, have also inked deals with Century Casinos.

Bet365 began accepting wagers on European sporting events in 2001, following its establishment in 2000. There has been no word yet on when Colorado will be available from the corporation.

Additionally, the retail and master licences of four Black Hawk casinos—Ameristar Casino, Bally's Black Hawk North, East, and West—have been renewed. Members of the LGCC have also issued 19 licences to businesses that supply services to or represent sports betting operators. Betclever, Elias Digital Solutions, Don Best Sports, and the PGA Tour are among the vendors on the list.
